Position Summary
The Financial Services Forum seeks a strategic, highly organized, and relationship-oriented Chief of Staff to serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and provide oversight of the Executive Office. This role will expand the management team’s capacity, drive cross-functional alignment, and help translate strategy into execution. The Chief of Staff will act as a connector across the organization and with member institutions, ensuring priorities move forward efficiently and effectively while strengthening both internal operations and external relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support of the CEO
Partner with the CEO to set and manage strategic priorities, including identifying areas requiring focus and regularly tracking progress
Strategically manage the CEO’s time in coordination with the Executive Assistant by evaluating long-term calendar commitments, travel, and meeting priorities
Prepare the CEO for internal and external meetings by coordinating briefings, data updates, and background materials
Draft, originate, review, and refine executive communications, including speeches, presentations, Board materials, and internal staff communications
Monitor information flows to ensure the CEO is appropriately involved in key issues, initiatives, and decision-making
Member and External Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders at member institutions, including chiefs of staff, government relations leaders, and other senior counterparts
Serve as an extension of the CEO in member-facing engagement, helping coordinate communication, follow-up, and alignment on priorities
Support relationship management efforts that strengthen collaboration and reduce administrative burden on the CEO
Meeting and Event Preparation
Manage the meeting cadence for the Board of Directors and leadership team, ensuring materials are distributed in advance, meetings are productive, and objectives are met
Plan and execute executive-level meetings and other special events
Project Management
Lead and oversee large, cross-functional, organization-wide initiatives
Bring together multiple stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making
Develop systems and processes to improve operational efficiency
Strategic Planning, Operations, and Performance Tracking
Coordinate the organization’s annual strategic planning process
Develop and maintain dashboards to track key performance indicators
Partner with leadership on budget planning, tracking, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with organizational priorities
Serve as the primary point of contact for essential vendors and operational partners, including HR, finance, and other external service providers
Internal Communications and Organizational Effectiveness
Lead proactive internal communications to staff, ensuring clarity, alignment, and transparency around priorities and initiatives
Serve as a trusted bridge between leadership and staff, facilitating information sharing and organizational cohesion
Support staff engagement and act as a central liaison to HR-related processes and questions
Relationship Building
Build strong relationships at all levels of the organization and serve as a trusted advisor
Keep the CEO informed on organizational dynamics and ensure engagement where needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Work Schedule and Travel
Hybrid schedule with four days per week in the office
Flexibility for overnight travel in connection with Board meetings and other executive-level events
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including roles in public affairs, communications, government, political campaigns, associations, consulting, or the private sector
Demonstrated project management skills, including experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from concept through execution
Proven experience independently managing complex projects or campaigns with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
Experience managing budgets and working with consultants, vendors, or external partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge of the financial services industry, including key policies, issues, and trends strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience, plus an annual performance-based bonus.
