A top-ranked, woman-owned government relations and strategic communications firm advising Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, government entities, and nonprofits is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of Human Resources to help lead HR strategy and operations. This newly created role reports to the Chief People Officer and serves as a key partner in strengthening culture, optimizing people programs, and scaling HR infrastructure in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the #2 to the CPO, driving execution of HR operations, programs, and employee experience initiatives.

  • Lead full-cycle HR processes including performance management, promotions, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, exits, and manager recognition programs.

  • Administer benefits programs and ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Design and manage HR dashboards and reporting; analyze workforce data to inform strategy and leadership decisions.

  • Oversee learning and development initiatives and help scale training programs.

  • Administer employee surveys and translate results into actionable plans.

  • Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives, presentations, and communications.

  • Support recruiting efforts as needed.

  • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, and high performance.

  • Lead or support special projects as assigned.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in benefits administration, HR compliance, and HR analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with Paylocity.

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency building HR dashboards and reports.

  • Experience administering employee engagement surveys and interpreting results.

  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, practices, and standards.

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills for executive audiences.

  • Highly organized with strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.

  • Experience working for a professional services, PR, or government relations firm a plus.

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.


Compensation & Benefits

$120,000–$150,000, depending on experience, plus bonus. Unlimited vacation, generous health and retirement benefits, and meaningful opportunities for advancement.
