About: National member-based energy organization seeks a Policy Principal to join its Decisionmaker Education and Engagement team. This team works closely with state regulators, energy officials, and policymakers to expand understanding of advanced energy technologies and business models through educational forums, roundtables, and national partnerships.
What You’ll Do
Support the Policy Director and team in strategizing and executing state-level regulatory campaigns.
Conduct research on regulatory frameworks, political landscapes, and state-specific stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry experts, and advocacy groups.
Develop and manage internal project management tools and systems.
Prepare reports on campaign metrics, progress, and outcomes for both internal and external audiences.
Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and educational events as needed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree a plus).
3–6 years of relevant experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and market analysis.
Demonstrated experience in the clean energy or advanced energy sector.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable with public speaking.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
Ability for overnight travel up to 20 % for stakeholder engagement.
Job Details
Location: Remote (U.S.); Candidates must be based in the territory, preferrable in the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, or Colorado.
